# How to Set Up a Second (Sub) Monitor on the AiBase NVR

## How to Set Up a Second (Sub) Monitor on the AiBase NVR

Note:

**Setup** **must be done on the local monitor**; it cannot be configured via the web portal or VMS software.

The sub monitor serves solely as a video output device and cannot be used for system configuration. As such, the NVR's menu and other system information will not be displayed on it. Channel selection for the sub monitor must be configured through the main monitor.

1. Click on **Main Menu** icon in the bottom left corner and click on **Setup** button.

2. Select **General** in the **System** Section.

3. Click on **Output Configuration.**

4. From the HDMI selection drop-down menu, choose **HDMI2**. For the NVR3864 model, you can configure up to four HDMI outputs. Follow the steps below to set them up one by one.

5. Enable the sub monitor by checking the **"Switch"** box. Configure other parameters as needed, then click the "Apply" button to save the configuration.
